What is a Pilates session?
The Pilates method of exercise involves utilizing your muscle and soul. While many of the exercises use your center (core) as the origin of movement, the reality is the entire body is utilized and rewarded with increased mobility and stability. For that I like to think of Pilates as the ultimate multi-tasker. In a typical Pilates session you will stretch your way to strength by using many of the muscles you use for everyday living and delightfully you may uncover some that you didn’t even know you had. It is a robust workout, and when done regularly can rehabilitate and even prevent disease. It complements every sport you may enjoy, and will improve posture, breathing, cognitive function, physical performance and overall quality of life.
In my studio there is no such thing as a typical Pilates session because each time we meet I tailor your workout to what your body needs on that particular day. My studio has Gratz reformer, 2 tower systems, 2 wunda chairs, mats, barrels, pedipole, TRX, ballet barre, full set of weights, and a host of various props to engage your mind and body through the Pilates system of exercise. I will also provide you with a program to do when you are home and away from our regular sessions. Enjoy a session with a friend (duet) or treat yourself to a private lesson. Custom sessions for you include one goal, one teacher, one student, and one singular focus. It's all about you!
My studio is my home. It is a very relaxed, loving and all accepting environment. We work not towards perfection but towards progress. It is a come as you are, and enjoy life atmosphere. Workouts are done in comfortable clothing, barefoot or sticky sox. Quite often a cup of tea, interesting story, and many a laugh are shared during and after a session. My fees are reasonable, and I offer packages for value and commitment. Pilates is for every body. Please know whatever your size, ability or experience you are welcome here. I do not sell any type of supplements, shakes or programs. I only sell the joy of Pilates. In the end that is truly all you need.
